11 years ago was a different time.

No

A superbly different time.

The Traditional music store hadn't been shot in the face like rock had been after 1994.  The commercial grounds were there, lines of distributionn, and what some people called "the scene", was deteriorating like an inravelling like a randomly aimed and boundless yo-yo on an overwound string.

Shock Rock hadn't been worn out yet, Marylin Manson's reign was wearing down and punk's 4th wave was still at a peak point, but it was ... fascinating at least to watch it from the sidelines of $5 a ticket shows, keggers and gatherings, jam sessions
