Trapping the eye is a term, I believe , is one which best describes the action of something that happens in a moment, in the corner of the eye... grabbing your attention, and dragging you in. I believe after the "Trapping of the eye", anything can happen. Perhaps, that action, that beginning moment, is the arc, or a gate, and opening if you will, into another dimension.
